Protein-Packed Chicken Noodle Soup

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

Despite the best of my abilities to keep my immune system strong and my hands clean, I still spend most of my days working in gyms where the equipment is touched by hundreds of hands a day. About once a year, I get a cold that just won't quit and this year it happened to be last week.

Worn-down and nose-runny I did the one thing that I knew would make me feel better: I made chicken noodle soup!

But this isn't just regular soup like grandma makes when you have a stuffy nose - it's even better! My new and improved recipe includes a very special ingredient to increase the amount of protein and the immune-boosting power - BONE BROTH!

Bone Broth

Bone broth is a magical powder made from simmering bones, meat, and veggies in a pot for an extended period of time. It's packed with protein and fiber plus it has been known to improve joint health, repair collagen, nourish hair, skin, and nails, while also improving the digestive and immune system. It has been a staple food since ancient times and is definitely worth looking into for a natural way to increase protein intake.

Ingredients

Everything you need to make the best protein-packed chicken noodle soup ever!

  1. 1 large chicken breast

  2. Chopped carrots, celery, and any other veggies you like

  3. 2-3 cups of water

  4. 1 box of Banza chickpea pasta (more protein than regular pasta)

  5. 1 packet of Thai-Curry LonoLife Bone Broth (the best flavor!)

  6. Himalayan pink salt, pepper, and turmeric (for anti-inflammatory and immune system support)

  7. 2 tbsp lemon juice (vitamin C)

Directions

  1. Bring the water and spices to a rolling boil. While it is heating up, chop your veggies

  2. Add the Thai-Curry bone broth and raw chicken breast.

  3. Once the chicken breast is cooked, use a fork and knife to shred it and add it back into the pot.

  4. Add the chopped veggies and pasta.

  5. Boil until the pasta and veggies are completely cooked.

  6. Add the lemon juice and serve hot to heal the body and soul!

Now say bye-bye to that common cold and hello to delicious, protein-packed soup.

You're gonna want to savor every bite!
