Snacks You Can Safely Munch On

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

I know that all those quarantine snacks are probably burning a hole in your pantry right now, but put down the cheetoes and here me out.

If you must munch, there are some snacks that are better than others. Foods with less calories for more quantity are going to give you the best bang for your buck and are hard to overeat because they’re so filling.

Here is a list of foods that you can safely snack on (and snack on a lot of) while still keeping true to your health and fitness goals, #summershreds here we come!

  1. Carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and celery sticks: I like these with hummus but if you want even less calories you can always sprinkle on some seasoning instead

  2. Watermelon: low cal and super sweet

  3. Popcorn: hold the butter, instead season with your fave flavor (mine is chili lime from Trader Joes)

  4. Kale chips: wash and dry your kale, remove any stems, season, and pop in the oven for 10 min at 300 degrees

  5. Grapefruit, oranges, and tangerine

  6. Grapes and Berries

In case you didn't notice, most of these foods are fruits and veggies. That’s because plants have a lower calorie content and they’re packed with vitamins and micronutrients.

So next time you stock up on snacks, ditch the chip isle and peruse the produce instead!
