How Journaling Changed My Mindset

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

One of the best habits that I've developed for my health is my morning journaling. Every morning, I take five minutes out of my day to write down three things I'm grateful for, three things I can accomplish that day, and then I fill the rest of the page with manifestations. A manifestation is literally "something that is brought into your physical reality through thoughts, feelings, or beliefs".

There are specific benefits to each of these three things, but the mindset shift is evident after just a week of adding journaling to your routine.

Here is the journal that I use. Check out the concepts below and try it yourself!

1. Gratitude

There's a reason why everyone talks about the importance of gratitude. Hell, we even have a whole holiday to celebrate being thankful. Reflecting on the things in your life that you're grateful for will give you a better sense of positivity about your life and make you happier to be right where you are. There's nothing wrong with wanting more, but being happy along the way is equally as important.

2. To-Do Listing

Each day I make a to-do list with action items that I need to accomplish that day. This not only keeps me on track, but also ensures I don't leave anything out that needs to be done. Making a to-do list is one of the best ways to stay motivated while you're working from home.

3. Manifesting

I use manifestation as a tool to give me confidence, push me to succeed, and help me start each day feeling ready to take on the world. You can do manifestation purely through meditation or visualization, but I personally find it to be most effective when I write things down in my journal. When I manifest through my writing, I act as if I already have the things I want. For example, instead of saying, "I want to make more than $100k a year" I would write, "I easily generate over $100k every year". This makes the goal feel more real and tells your mind that it is something you're not only completely capable of, but well on the way to doing.

The journal that I use can be found HERE. It has prompts that help guide you in your writing, so it's great for when you're first starting out. I hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me. Having the right mindset is a crucial step in the path to a happier, healthier life.
