I shared this one on my story with you guys and the response was unanimous - "HOW?!"
So I figured I should post the recipe here for you all to reference back to when you're getting your donut on at home.
They're very simple to make and only require a few ingredients (four to be exact)! They aren't "low cal" or anything (oops), but they are low-er calorie than a donut you'd get from Dunkin or Krispy Kreme.
Ingredients:
For the donuts:
- 1 can of biscuits
For the glaze I use:
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Punch holes in each biscuit and save the middle for the donut holes.
Spray the dough with olive oil and put it in the air fryer on 380 for about 5-6 minutes. Don't let the pieces touch each other inside the air fryer. I also place mine on the rack with tin foil over it so they don't stick.
While they cook, mix the glaze ingredients together in a small bowl. I like to microwave mine for 10 seconds so that it's warm too.
Use a spoon or brush to glaze your donuts and enjoy warm!
You can also skip the glaze and decorate them however you like. Sprinkles, store-bought icing, leche condensada is Luis's favorite. I've also done cinnamon and brown sugar before which was very good. If you try something new with this recipe, please feel free to share on social media and tag me! I'd love to see your donut creations!
